Alon Schab    composer, musicologist, arranger

Alon Schab light

Alon Schab wrote his doctoral dissertation (on the compositional technique of Henry Purcell) in Trinity College Dublin.

He is a lecturer at the University of Haifa and also teaches in the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance. Being also a composer and a recorder player, he tries to combine his various interests by supplying reconstructions and arrangements of 17th-century music for early music ensembles.

Among his reconstructions: a sonata by Sampson Estwick, a fragmentry Suite by Henry Purcell, and a hypothesised underground service for Holy Week (London, 1604) combining Dowland's Lachrimae pavans and Giovanni Croce's lamentations and motets.
